What’s the matter with the bumps on your tongue?

Bumps on the tongue may be physiological, or may be caused by pathological factors such as papillitis, papilloma, polyp, and so on. 1. Physiological factors: tongue lumps may be normal tissue papillae, which is a normal phenomenon if there is no pain and other obvious discomfort without treatment. 2. Pathologic factors (1) papillitis: bacterial infection produces inflammation of the papilla of the tongue, due to the repeated stimulation of inflammation, can cause bumps on the tongue with obvious pain symptoms. (2) Tongue papilloma: mostly related to epithelial mucous membrane hyperplasia and viral infection, mostly found on the tip of tongue, lateral edge of tongue, back of tongue, etc., which is manifested as the symptom of papillary bumps on the above mentioned areas. (3) Tongue polyps: due to long-term stimulation of spicy food, alcohol and other stimuli, can cause abnormal proliferation of tongue mucosal cells, resulting in tongue polyps, which can be manifested as the symptoms of bumps on the tongue. Of course, the causes of tongue bumps are not limited to the above mentioned diseases, so it is recommended that people with the above symptoms go to the hospital in time to find out the causes of the bumps and then actively treat them, so as not to delay the condition.
