The now-endemic variant of the New Crown epidemic is called the Omicron virus, a mutated strain of the New Crown virus. The current domestic epidemic of New Crown virus is called Omicron virus, which is based on the phonetic translation of the foreign name. Compared with the previous Neocoronavirus, Omicron is more transmissible, but relatively less pathogenic, and infections are predominantly in asymptomatic and mildly infected individuals. Omicron is a subvirus of Neocoronavirus, which is based on Neocoronavirus with some genetic information altered, resulting in a change in the virus, and therefore changes in pathogenicity and infectiousness. Timely vaccination against Neocoronavirus, wearing a good mask and good self-protection are still effective means to avoid Omicron infection.
