It is difficult to reverse the degeneration that has already formed and recover from it. Symptoms can be relieved through medication, traction or surgery to achieve the therapeutic purpose.
1. Medication: Lumbar disc herniation is usually accompanied by pain, limb numbness and other symptoms, and can be followed by the doctor’s instructions to apply diclofenac, meloxicam, methylcobalamin and other drugs to relieve pain and nourish the nerves.
2. Traction: Pelvic traction under the operation of professional doctors can increase the space between lumbar vertebrae, reduce the internal pressure of intervertebral discs, and make the herniated discs return, but the degree of return needs to be decided according to the condition and the effect of traction.
3.Surgical treatment
(1) Open surgery: incision through the lumbar back, decompression of the vertebral plate and discectomy are the most commonly used surgical methods. For patients with lumbar instability and lumbar spinal stenosis, intervertebral implant fusion is needed at the same time.
(2) Minimally invasive surgery: Minimally invasive surgical techniques such as disc removal through intervertebral foramenoscopy or endoscopic removal of lumbar intervertebral discs result in less surgical damage than open surgery.
When symptoms of lumbar disc herniation occur, it is recommended to seek medical attention as soon as possible and utilize professional means of intervention to prevent further degenerative changes in the lumbar disc.
