Usually only a small part of the colon is located in the right iliac fossa and belongs to the cecum, but most of the colon is located in the lower part of the abdominal cavity. The colon can be divided into the ascending, transverse, descending, and sigmoid colon, and according to human anatomy, only a small portion of the ascending colon (including the cecum) is located in the right iliac fossa. The ascending colon is connected to the transverse colon and forms the right curvature of the colon with the transverse colon, which is mainly located in the middle of the abdominal cavity, and to the left it turns sharply downward to form the left curvature of the colon in the position of the spleen. It then joins the descending colon, positioned in the left lateral abdominal region at the left quarter rib. It then runs vertically down along the lateral margin of the left kidney to join the sigmoid colon, which is positioned in the left iliac fossa. In conclusion, if there is any discomfort in the abdominal cavity, the patient needs to go to the hospital in a timely manner to improve the examination and rule out colonic diseases.
