Is a fractured nasal bone considered a minor injury?

According to the Standard for Identification of the Degree of Human Injury, nasal bone fracture belongs to the category of minor injuries. Nasal fractures are a common type of clinical fracture in maxillofacial trauma, mostly caused by direct violent injuries to the nose, such as fights and car accidents. Patients need to undergo CT and 3D reconstruction of the nasal bone to adequately assess the nasal fracture, as well as fracture involvement and fracture collapse. When there is significant collapse of the nasal bone fracture, it will affect the normal shape of the nose and the ventilation function of the nasal cavity, thus affecting the overall facial aesthetics and breathing of the patient. Patients are advised to seek medical attention as soon as possible to clarify the diagnosis and treatment. Ice packs can be applied, but try to avoid pressure, as this may aggravate the condition, and do not tilt the head to prevent backflow of blood to the pharynx. Patients with nasal bone fractures should take rest, avoid direct head blowing, and not allow the nose to be impacted, and pay attention to balanced nutritional intake to promote the recovery of nasal bone fractures.
