Why do newborns spill milk from the nose

The milk eaten by newborns comes out of the nose, generally due to the following two reasons: 1. Physiological characteristics: Because the baby is just born, the stomach is horizontal, the capacity of the stomach is relatively small, the pancreatic sphincter is not well developed and is relatively flaccid. Once the baby does not eat much milk or inhale too much air in the stomach when eating milk, it will increase the pressure in the stomach and the milk will enter the esophagus from the stomach through the relaxed cardia. As the larynx and nasal cavity are connected, if the pressure in the stomach is too high, the milk will come out of the nose. 2. Incorrect breastfeeding posture: parents do not hold the baby up in a head-high-foot-low posture while breastfeeding, but let the baby lie on the bed and breastfeed, this posture can easily lead to choking and coughing, and choking may occur when the milk comes out of the nose.
