Specialized medicine for chronic appendicitis

Currently, the treatment of chronic appendicitis is mainly surgical, and there are no specific drugs for chronic appendicitis. Most cases of chronic appendicitis are the result of acute appendicitis, while a few cases may begin as a chronic process. Chronic appendicitis often has a history of acute appendicitis attacks, some patients only have vague pain or discomfort, strenuous activities or improper diet can trigger different degrees of acute attacks. Some patients have a history of repeated acute attacks. The patient’s main sign is limited pressure pain in the right lower abdomen. The treatment for chronic appendicitis is mainly surgical resection, but in case of acute attack, pain relief and anti-inflammatory treatment are given as appropriate.
