Western medicines for liver protection

In case of hepatitis and cirrhosis, liver protection medicines are required. Liver-protecting drugs such as ursodeoxycholic acid, polyene phosphatidylcholine and adenosylmethionine. 1. Ursodeoxycholic acid: By forming a lecithin-cholesterol liquid layer on the surface of gallstones, it promotes the dissolution of stones. At the same time, it inhibits intestinal absorption of cholesterol and reduces cholesterol secretion, so that the amount of cholesterol entering the bile is reduced and the synthesis of normal compensation when cholesterol is lowered is weakened. 2. Polyene phosphatidylcholine: affects the membrane structure, restores damaged liver function and enzyme activity to normal. Regulates liver homeostasis and promotes liver tissue regeneration. Regulates the energy balance of the liver by directly affecting the membrane structure. It also converts neutral fat and cholesterol into easily metabolized forms and plays a role in stabilizing bile. 3. Adenosylmethionine: Physiologic adenosylmethionine in the liver helps prevent bile deposition in the liver. Increased synthesis of sulfhydryl compounds, without increasing methionine concentrations, restores endogenous levels of an essential compound whose bioavailability is reduced in liver disease. There are other types of medications that protect the liver. Do not take hepatoprotective medications on your own; seek medical attention to avoid further aggravation of your condition.
