Muscle soreness after exercise occurs because of minor injuries to muscle fibers and connective tissues during exercise, and after about a day or so, these injuries manifest themselves in the form of soreness, also known medically as delayed muscle soreness. The peak of soreness usually occurs within 48 hours after exercise and then slowly disappears. So far there is no clear way to prevent this pain, the more common advice is to do a good warm-up before exercise, using low-intensity training or after exercise can be appropriate nutrition, such as protein supplementation. If the local soreness is serious, cold compresses can be used to relieve this pain.
