Insulin should be referred to as insulin injection, summer storage needs to be placed in the refrigerator for storage at 2-8°C before the first use, and once the use has begun it should not be stored in the refrigerator for storage.
Unopened insulin is kept at 2-8°C and refrigerated until the package expiration date expires. It should never be kept below 0°C as this will inactivate the insulin.
For insulin refills that have been opened and used do not put them back into the refrigerator, they can be stored at room temperature because the needles on the refills are connected to the outside world, and repeated alternation of heat and cold can easily cause air to enter the bottle, affecting the accuracy of the dose, which can cause instability of blood glucose, and may also cause bacterial contamination.
However, insulin needs to be stored at room temperature below 30°C, away from direct light. The storage period of most insulins at room temperature below 30℃ after use is usually about 1 month.
It is recommended that insulin be stored in strict accordance with storage methods, and specific medication should be administered under the guidance of a physician.
