Generally speaking, young people with good basic conditions and no special diseases usually do not have a fever after a relatively short period of exposure to cold. On the other hand, older people or people with underlying medical conditions, or people who are not in good physical condition, or people who have been in the cold for a long period of time, may develop a fever. Therefore, it is not possible to generalize whether or not catching a cold will cause a fever, but it depends on the patient’s condition as well as the weather conditions.
