How do I measure my blood pressure?

A qualified mercury column blood pressure monitor or an upper-arm electronic blood pressure monitor that meets international standards should be used. Standardize blood pressure measurement procedures and record blood pressure values honestly. The subject should rest quietly for at least 5 min before the blood pressure measurement, and the subject should be in a sitting position, quietly, without talking, and with relaxed limbs. The cuff was appropriately sized and tightened around the upper arm, with the cuff at the same level as the heart. The systolic blood pressure was determined by auscultation of the Ⅰ sound of the Koch sound, and the diastolic blood pressure was determined by the Ⅴ sound of the Koch sound (disappearing sound). The interval between the two blood pressure measurements was 1 to 2 min. Using a mercury column sphygmomanometer, the blood pressure reading was taken as an even number, and the reading was accurate to 2 mmHg, avoiding the trailing “0” preference. When using an upper-arm electronic sphygmomanometer, the blood pressure reading displayed should prevail. Advocate hypertensive patients in the home self-measurement of blood pressure, such as blood pressure standard and stable, generally self-measurement of blood pressure once a week; blood pressure does not meet the standard or unstable, then increase the number of self-measurement of blood pressure. The first measurement of blood pressure, should be measured on the left and right arm, to the side of high blood pressure shall prevail, future measurement of the unified measurement of the side of the arm; if the difference between the blood pressure of the two arms (systolic or diastolic blood pressure) ≥ 10mmHg, then we should be careful of peripheral vascular disease. In addition, some experts have found that the difference in blood pressure between the two arms can be used as a prognostic indicator to evaluate cardiovascular disease, but the study is not yet supported by a large amount of data.
