What’s with the pressure on the heart?

A feeling of pressure on the heart may be caused by physiological factors or due to diseases such as pericarditis and coronary atherosclerosis.
1. Physiological factors: prolonged late night, insufficient sleep or long-term anxiety and tension may cause sympathetic nerve excitation, which may increase the load on the heart and make it easy to experience cardiac discomfort, resulting in an obvious feeling of pressure on the heart.
2. Pericarditis: when pericarditis is serious enough to cause pericardial effusion, it may compress the heart, and in severe cases, it may cause the ventricles to fill up, thus making the heart feel obvious pressure.
3. Coronary artery atherosclerosis: If coronary artery stenosis or occlusion occurs, it is easy to cause myocardial ischemia and hypoxia, or cause myocardial necrosis, which will ultimately lead to chest tightness, resulting in a feeling of obvious pressure on the heart.
In addition to the above factors, we should also consider digestive system diseases or mental illnesses. It is recommended to consult a doctor as soon as possible to understand the cause of the disease or then targeted treatment, so as not to delay the condition, affecting the health of the heart.
