Most pneumonia causes fever, cough and phlegm. If there is only a cough without fever and no other abnormal symptoms, it is not very serious, but it needs to be treated aggressively by going to the hospital for the appropriate tests. If it is caused by a bacterial infection, active treatment with antibacterial drugs of the penicillin or cephalosporin class is preferred, and coughing and phlegm-relieving drugs are also needed. If the cough is more severe in elderly patients, the absence of fever does not necessarily indicate a milder condition and should be taken seriously and treated actively. If the effect of treatment with drugs is not obvious, it is also necessary to go to the hospital first to do sputum examination and drug sensitivity test, and according to the results of the examination, choose sensitive antibacterial drugs for active treatment.
