Astragalus and Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng are both Chinese herbs. Astragalus has the effects of strengthening the spleen, tonifying the middle, benefiting the Wei and consolidating the epidermis. Radix Panax Ginseng has the effects of strengthening the spleen (regulating the qi of the spleen and stomach), generating fluids and moistening the lungs.
1. Astragalus is slightly warm in nature and sweet in flavor. It has the effects of tonifying Qi and generating fluids, benefiting Wei and consolidating the exterior, and supporting toxin and muscle growth (discharging toxins and promoting muscle growth and wound healing). Astragalus can be used to treat spleen qi deficiency, qi deficiency and spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the daytime, aggravated by sweating with slight movement), lung qi deficiency, qi and blood deficiency and other conditions.
2. Radix Panax Ginseng is flat in nature, sweet in flavor and slightly bitter. It has the effects of tonifying Qi and generating fluids, strengthening the spleen and lungs (strengthening the functions of the spleen and lungs). Radix Panax Ginseng can treat weak spleen qi (weak spleen qi), yin deficiency and lung dryness (deficiency of yin in human body, resulting in lung dryness not being nourished), insufficient stomach yin (insufficient yin in the stomach), dry cough with little phlegm and other diseases.
Astragalus can be taken with Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng, and its effect is effective in relieving symptoms such as spontaneous sweating, palpitations (rapid heartbeat, often accompanied by panic), irritable heat (irritable and sultry), thirst, and other discomforts caused by late stage of febrile illness and injury of both qi and yin.
Whether it is Astragalus or Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng, it is necessary to follow the doctor’s instructions on the use of medication, to avoid the abuse of drugs leading to aggravation of the condition.
