What tests are done for nodules in the lungs

Laboratory tests, imaging tests, and other tests can be done to confirm the diagnosis of nodules in the lungs. 1. Laboratory tests: sputum culture, sputum fungal culture, blood routine, C-reactive protein and other tests are commonly used to confirm whether there are infectious lesions. Tumor marker tests can be used to screen for early lung cancer. 2. Imaging examination: Chest X-ray, chest CT, PET-CT can be used to find and identify the nature of lung nodules. Among them, chest CT is a more commonly used examination method for lung diseases. Conventional CT scan is mostly used for screening high-risk groups, and CT enhancement scan is mostly used to diagnose the edge, density, and relationship between calcified foci and the surrounding area of lung nodules, so as to provide the basis for judging the nature of lung nodules. 3. Other tests: other tests commonly used in the clinic include lung puncture biopsy through the chest wall, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, thoracoscopic surgical biopsy, mediastinoscopy and so on.
