Why is there a hard lump inside the ear piercing

There are the following clinical possibilities for hard lumps inside the ear piercing. 1. After the ear piercing, due to the large trauma, the local infection may occur due to the lack of timely disinfection after the operation, and after the infection, there may be a local growth of granulation tissue and thus a local hard lump. This may be painful when pressed and usually occurs within one or two months after the piercing. 2. Some patients are keloid and may have local infection or injury to the cartilage after the piercing, resulting in abnormal local tissue proliferation and the formation of keloid. In this case, scar tissue will be formed within 2-3 months after the hyperplasia, and scar tissue can be treated by applying scar removal medication in the early stage. If it grows significantly, surgery is recommended to remove the scar, followed by isotope treatment to inhibit the recurrence of the scar.
