The 10-year local recurrence rate of vascular cancer embolus in breast cancer is around 10%. Vascular cancer embolus is a metastasis of cancer cells in the blood vessels or lymphatic vessels surrounding the breast cancer, and it has been shown to be one of the risk factors for local regional recurrence (i.e., the affected breast and the ipsilateral axillary lymph nodes) in patients with negative axillary lymph nodes. Several retrospective studies have been conducted to analyze the risk factors for local recurrence after total mastectomy, and the results of long-term follow-up have shown that vascular cancerous embolism is a risk factor for local regional recurrence, with 10-year local regional recurrence ranging from about 10% to 15% in patients with positive vascular cancerous embolism and less than 5% in patients with negative vascular cancerous embolism, which is statistically significantly different from each other. It is recommended to follow the doctor’s instructions to cooperate with the treatment, regular review, early detection of abnormalities and early treatment, and avoid blind treatment, which may cause adverse consequences.
