Childbirth and urination are not the same organ. The external opening of the birth canal for child birth is the vaginal opening and the external opening for urination is the urethral opening. The fetus is delivered naturally from the vagina and the external opening for child birth should be the vaginal opening. The vaginal opening is located in the posterior part of the vestibule behind the urethral opening. The structures going upward in a retrograde direction from the vaginal opening are the vagina, cervix, and uterus in that order. The opening for urination is the external urethral orifice, which is located behind and below the head of the clitoris and is rounded with folded and closed edges. Structures that run retrograde upward from the urethral opening are, in order, the urethra, bladder, ureters, and kidneys. The vagina is adjacent to the urethra, but both have their own external orifices. In case of a urethrovaginal fistula, urine can also flow out of the vagina. If there is any discomfort, it is recommended to seek medical attention and treatment.
