There are non-opioid, weak opioid and strong opioid painkillers for advanced cancer. It is recommended to use the medication under the guidance of doctor, and the medication plan is different for different situations. In advanced cancer, the tumor has usually metastasized, which will cause pain; or the tumor gradually increases in size and presses the surrounding nerves, which triggers pain, and then painkillers can be used to relieve the symptoms. Pain caused by cancer is divided into mild, moderate and severe pain, and different drugs are given for different pain. ⒈ non-opioid:For the mild pain of advanced cancer give non-opioid, such as paracetamol, aspirin, gabapentin, diclofenac, ibuprofen, indomethacin and so on. Weak opioids:For moderate pain in advanced cancer give weak opioids plus or minus non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and auxiliary painkillers, commonly used drugs include codeine, tramadol and so on. Strong opioids:For severe pain of advanced cancer, give strong opioids plus or minus NSAIDs and auxiliary painkillers. Commonly used drugs are Oxycontin, morphine tablets and so on. These three types of drugs have this different degree of adverse reactions, such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, etc., so need to be in the doctor’s guidance of the use of drugs. For pregnant women, children, allergy sufferers and patients suffering from other complications need to strictly consult the doctor and not to use the drug without authorization. It is suggested that patients with advanced cancer need to maintain a positive and optimistic attitude, listen to the doctor’s diagnostic program arrangements, and actively cooperate with the treatment.
