What you should do to replenish your estrogen

Female estrogen is mainly produced by the ovaries, so the level of estrogen also shows how well your ovaries are functioning, which is directly related to whether your menstruation can be regular, whether your menstrual flow can be normal, and whether it affects your fertility. Western medicine treatment is to supplement your low estrogen level with exogenous estrogen to stimulate follicle development and endometrial thickening, which will increase your menstrual flow and help you get pregnant. However, the human body is amazing in that when the ovarian estrogen is low, the pituitary gland, the “higher center” of the ovaries, receives feedback that the ovaries are not producing enough estrogen and automatically raises the “higher order” to stimulate ovarian secretion in order to restore ovarian secretion. The effect is to restore ovarian secretion. If your ovaries are only temporarily dysfunctional due to occasional stimuli, then estrogen supplementation may quickly restore ovarian function and allow you to conceive as soon as possible. However, if your ovaries are “deficient” due to long-term “depletion”, then artificial supplementation of exogenous estrogen may end the feedback of insufficient secretion by increasing the level of estrogen in your body. The “higher center” does not know about the deficiency of the lower level and will not issue instructions. This is why some friends still cannot resume menstruation once they stop using hormones. Chinese medicine is completely different from Western medicine in that it is not an exogenous estrogen supplement. Although some people believe that drugs such as Zi He Che and Zhen Zhen Zi can increase estrogen levels, that only works for certain patients, such as those with liver and kidney deficiency, while if the diagnosis is Qi stagnation and blood stasis, it may not work to increase estrogen. There is a big clinical misconception, both among patients and some doctors, that raising estrogen is kidney supplementation, that is, supplementing with drugs or foods that may contain estrogen-like hormones, in fact, this is really not true. The dialectical treatment in TCM is very important and necessary, because TCM is to adjust your organism to restore your ovaries to their own secretion and ovulation, not to supplement what it does not produce enough. This is just like when we go to help the poor, the fundamental method is not to send money and things, but to send ideas and techniques, so that the poor people can become rich themselves. Money will be spent and things will be used up, and not only that, but the poor people may develop dependency and forget to live a self-sufficient life, eventually leading to complete “laziness”. The same goes for ovarian function, we need to adjust to let it work on its own, rather than letting it do it for us if it doesn’t. This is the reason why we see some people who are treated with hormones for low menstrual flow and then stop taking them and find that their ovarian function has declined. Nature has created human beings, and “growth and aging” is a natural law. If there is a problem on this track, we must have deviated at some stage, so the treatment is to find the original track, not to make a big effort to find another way. We often say that taking Chinese medicine is conditioning, the word “conditioning” is very apt, we are not transforming, not to mention creating, but conditioning. Do not underestimate this conditioning, conditioning properly, the effect may be huge, and even back to life. Just like the highest level of martial arts is not a great strength, but to lend strength to fight, four two to dial a thousand jin. Like taijiquan, softness to overcome rigidity, in the smoothness of the force of the incomparable.
