What’s wrong with chest heat and swelling?

The more common cause of chest heat, swelling and pain is breast inflammation, also known as breast infection. This is manifested by local skin congestion, edema, breast swelling and pain, and increased local skin temperature, which requires anti-infection treatment, especially in breastfeeding women. If the local infection leads to abscess formation, incision and drainage is required. Before the menstrual cycle, due to excessive secretion of estrogen, patients may also experience chest heat, swelling and pain, often manifesting as local irritation pain, accompanied by thickening of the breast gland, which will resolve on its own after the end of the menstrual cycle. In middle-aged women, endocrine disorders can lead to excessive secretion of estrogen and reduced secretion of progesterone, resulting in pathological breast enlargement, which is characterized by breast swelling and pain, accompanied by local glandular thickening and breast nodule formation, and requires the application of drugs to relieve the patient’s symptoms.
