If you have a foreign body in your eye, consider the possibility of a conjunctival or corneal foreign body if the foreign body is really obvious and fixed in position. The first step is to flush yourself with sterile saline and avoid rubbing your eyes. If the foreign body sensation disappears after flushing, prophylactic anti-inflammatory treatment with levofloxacin drops may be indicated. If the foreign body sensation is not reduced even after self-rinsing, it is necessary to go to the hospital and it is not recommended to solve the problem at home. The location of the foreign body can be observed under the slit lamp at the hospital and can be removed under the microscope. This is followed by the use of antibiotic drops such as levofloxacin, or calf blood drops to nourish the cornea and prevent infection as well as recovery treatment. Usually, the foreign body is removed and the eye drops are used for 1-2 days to recover.
