How to treat gallbladder sedimentary stones

Sedimentary gallbladder stones, or microscopic gallstones, are usually a mixture of bilirubin, calcium carbonate salts, and cholesterol. They can be treated with medication and surgery.
Due to their small size, sedimentary gallstones can be treated with lithotripsy, often with medications such as ursodeoxycholic acid, if the number is small and there is no obvious discomfort. The medication can be reviewed by ultrasound, and if it is effective, the medication can be continued until the stones disappear.
If there are symptoms such as recurrent biliary colic, increasing stone size and number, patients are advised to consider cholecystectomy, usually laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and traditional open cholecystectomy, which patients need to choose according to their own situation.
When there are sedimentary gallbladder stones, it is recommended to follow the doctor’s instructions to improve the relevant examination, and then choose the appropriate treatment.
