There is no such thing as the “most accurate” test for liver cysts. The preferred test for liver cyst diagnosis is ultrasound, in addition to CT and MRI. Liver cysts are a benign disease of the liver and are not uncommon. Smaller liver cysts in the early stage may have no clinical manifestations, but when the size of liver cysts increases to a certain extent, they may compress the neighboring organs and present symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In addition to the above clinical manifestations, ultrasonography is the preferred method to diagnose liver cysts with high sensitivity. CT and MRI examinations can clarify the size, location and morphology of the cysts and help in diagnosis. For patients with multiple liver cysts, kidneys, lungs, pancreas and other organs should also be examined for cysts or congenital malformations. Please seek medical attention if you feel unwell.
