What causes a large head

Large head is divided into physiological and pathological head. Physiologically large head, may be due to the genetic transfer of the parents’ genes to the child after the performance of the skull is relatively large, this situation if there are no symptoms, is not the need for surgery nor treatment, and can not apply surgery, because the skull is fixed, if the skull becomes smaller, the brain tissue can not be processed. Some cases are pathological head enlargement, which may be caused by the progressive enlargement of the skull due to the increase of intracranial pressure. A common disorder is compensatory enlargement of the skull in infants with unclosed bony sutures and increased intracranial pressure. Other causes of cranial enlargement include other causes of increased intracranial pressure such as increased cranial contents, commonly intracranial occupying lesions such as hydrocephalus and intracranial tumors, as well as certain intracranial infections that may also cause a large cranium. Pathological head enlargement needs to be treated, and it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for treatment.
