Baby cervical tilt is a disease caused by birth injury or other factors, resulting in unilateral contracture of the sternocleidomastoid muscle causing the neck to be tilted to one side. In the clinic, it can be found through physical examination that one side of the child’s sternocleidomastoid muscle forms an olive-like hard lump, which is a typical clinical manifestation of strabismus. In this case, if it is an infant or a young child, you can use local massage, hot compresses and other methods to make the contracted muscles get further stretched to alleviate or even cure the occurrence of strabismus. If the contracture still exists at the age of 12-24 months and cannot be corrected by massage, it should be treated by surgery, so as to avoid complications such as asymmetrical development of the face, or even asymmetrical development of the five senses in some children.
