How to determine whether it is a polyp or ovulatory bleeding

The determination of polyps and ovulatory bleeding can be done by ultrasound. In the case of a polyp, the ultrasound will indicate the presence of a heterogeneous echogenic tissue in the uterine cavity, under 1 cm or over 1 cm in size, and the ultrasonographer will consider the presence of a polyp in the diagnosis. In the case of ovulatory bleeding, the uterine cavity is normal, except for the presence of a follicle close to a mature follicle in one ovary, when ovulatory bleeding is present. When polyps are present, they can be treated by surgery or oral progestin. Ovulatory bleeding needs to be stopped by oral estrogen or oral short-acting contraceptives one week before ovulation.
