What’s wrong with elevated urine hemoglobin?

Elevated urinary hemoglobin usually refers to hemoglobinuria, which is mostly caused by severe intravascular hemolysis, but also can be seen in the urinary tract such as hemolysis.
1. Intravascular hemolysis: such as hemolytic anemia, blood group incompatibility of blood transfusion reaction, paroxysmal sleep hemoglobinuria, serosanguinosis, etc., can make the amount of hemoglobin in the blood rise, exceeding the burden of the kidneys, resulting in elevated hemoglobin in the urine.
2. Hemolysis in the urinary tract: refers to the dissolution of red blood cells in the urine, resulting in elevated hemoglobin in the urine, also known as pseudohaemoglobinuria.
In addition, women during menstruation, if menstrual blood mixed into the urine specimen, can also cause elevated urinary hemoglobin.
There are many other causes of elevated urinary hemoglobin, which should be taken seriously, and the cause of the problem should be identified in time for hospitalization and further treatment or therapy as prescribed by the doctor.
