Is it normal for a 45 year old man to have a blood pressure of 150/90?

The normal range of blood pressure in adults is (90-139)/(60-89) mmHg. 150/90 mmHg in a middle-aged male is on the high side.
1. Hypertension is defined as systolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 140mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 90mmHg on 3 occasions on non-same day without taking antihypertensive drugs.
2. Clinically, hypertension is categorized as Grade 1: systolic blood pressure (140-159) mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure (90-99) mmHg; Grade 2: systolic blood pressure (160-179) mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure (100-110) mmHg; Grade 3: systolic blood pressure greater than 180 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure greater than 110 mmHg.
A middle-aged man with a blood pressure of 150/90mmHg is classified as Grade 1 hypertension, and is advised to go to the cardiovascular department of the hospital in a timely manner. If the diagnosis of hypertension is confirmed, it is recommended to take oral antihypertensive drugs as prescribed by the doctor to control and stabilize the blood pressure, and to take appropriate exercise and low-fat diet.
