Once epilepsy is diagnosed, a detailed assessment test is performed , to clarify the cause of the epilepsy, the symptomatology, the location of the epileptic focus, and the appropriate treatment plan based on the assessment results.
Focal epilepsy (secondary epilepsy) is suitable for surgical cure, while epilepsy with generalised (idiopathic epilepsy) seizures is more suitable for pharmacological or neuromodulation treatment.
