Herpes zoster on arm can be treated by general treatment, medication, other treatments and so on.
1. General treatment: arm shingles, should keep the local clean, dry, avoid scratching with hands, so as to avoid rash breakage secondary infection. If the blisters appear oozing, cold compresses can be applied to reduce pain. Usually should also wear loose, soft clothes, reduce friction, reduce pain.
2. Drug treatment:
(1) Antiviral drugs: such as acyclovir, famciclovir, vasiclovir, bromvudine and other drugs.
(2) Painkillers: such as acetaminophen, codeine, and pregabalin.
(3) Neurotrophic drugs: such as methylcobalamin, vitamin B₁, B₁₂, and so on, this kind of drug is helpful in relieving nerve inflammation and nerve pain.
3. Other treatments: For patients with severe pain, they can be combined with TCM treatments, such as acupuncture and moxibustion.
It is recommended that patients with herpes zoster on their arms go to the hospital in time, and the above drugs should not be used blindly on their own to avoid adverse effects.
