Whether ganglioside is better to be injected intramuscularly or intravenously depends on the severity of the condition, mainly due to the relatively high dosage of medication for intravenous drip and the relatively low dosage for intramuscular injection. Gangliosides are mainly used in the treatment of vascular or traumatic central nervous system injury, Parkinson’s disease. In the acute phase of the lesion (especially acute trauma), 100 mg per day is given intravenously; after 2-3 weeks, the dose is changed to a maintenance dose of 20-40 mg per day, intramuscularly or intravenously, usually for 6 weeks. In Parkinson’s disease, the first dose is 500-1000 mg intravenously; 200 mg subcutaneously, intramuscularly, or intravenously from day 2 onward, usually for up to 18 weeks. Rash is a common adverse effect of the drug and should be avoided in patients who are allergic to the drug or have abnormal glucose metabolism or Guillain-BarrĂ© syndrome. Specific use and dosage, it is recommended to use under the guidance of a doctor.
