How long does it take for an anal fistula to heal after surgery

The incidence of anal fistula is one of the three major diseases in anorectology, and its incidence accounts for about 10% of anal diseases. Surgery is an effective means of treating this disease, and the length of healing time is mainly related to the height and complexity of the fistula. If the fistula is simple or subcutaneous, the fistula is usually shallow and mild, and the wound will heal completely in about 2-3 weeks in most patients. If the fistula is complex, the fistula is relatively deep, the wound is large, and requires daily medication changes, the healing time will be relatively slow and may take about 20-30 days. If the fistula is complex, the wound is bigger and deeper, the recovery time is longer, it may take about 2-3 months, even the patient will live with the fistula, if the patient does not pay attention to perianal hygiene after surgery, infection and other conditions, the healing time will be relatively longer.
