The elbow fracture has been in extension for 2 years, which may be caused by incomplete soft tissue recovery, traumatic arthritis, and poor alignment of the fracture ends. Different etiology, different treatment methods. Common treatments include general treatment, medication, surgery and so on.
1. Incomplete soft tissue recovery: If the post-injury exercise is not timely, the soft tissue around the elbow joint is adherent, resulting in limited elbow joint activity and extension. Pain relievers such as ibuprofen can be used to relieve pain. Physical therapy such as localized hot compresses, electromagnetic therapy and acupuncture can also be used to facilitate blood circulation, relax muscles and ligaments, and promote elbow joint recovery.
2. Traumatic arthritis: Traumatic arthritis of the elbow joint which has been fractured, the structure and function of the cartilage is destroyed, and symptoms such as joint swelling and limited extension may occur.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin may be used. The use of chondroprotective agents, such as hyaluronic acid, can promote cartilage repair and improve joint movement. If necessary, surgery can be performed to remove the bony residue, so that the elbow joint can be flexed and extended normally.
3. Poor alignment of the fracture: If the elbow fracture is not well aligned or if there is broken bone that prevents healing, the elbow joint will not recover completely, resulting in difficulty in movement and extension. X-ray examination can be used to determine the site of injury and the degree of alignment, remove excess bone fragments and re-align the fracture to improve the symptoms of elbow hyperextension.
The elbow joint fracture is 2 years old and the inability to straighten may be caused by tendon rupture, humerus bone injury and other reasons. You should go to the hospital in time to have the cause diagnosed by the doctor and give targeted treatment. The above medications should be used in accordance with the doctor’s instructions.
