Hepatic encephalopathy is usually induced by upper gastrointestinal bleeding, high protein diet, and large amount of deflated ascites on the basis of chronic cirrhosis or acute liver failure.
1. Cirrhosis due to viral hepatitis, drug-induced liver disease, and primary liver cancer is the end stage of most liver diseases. Acute toxic hepatitis, acute fatty liver in pregnancy and reduced blood supply to the liver after portal vein shunt surgery are prone to cause acute hepatic failure, which in turn leads to hepatic encephalopathy.
2. Common triggering factors such as gastrointestinal bleeding, excessive protein intake, massive ascites release, etc., make the amine toxic substances in the intestinal tract increase, which can easily damage the nerves, and symptoms of hepatic encephalopathy appear.
If there are signs of hepatic encephalopathy, such as personality and behavioral changes, sleep abnormalities, etc., you should go to the hospital for treatment in a timely manner. People with long-term liver disease should pay attention to their diet and living habits to prevent hepatic encephalopathy.
