The clinical symptoms of early arthritis are as follows. Patients will have mild dull pain symptoms, which are usually not serious, and the pain will be slightly aggravated by increased activity and will improve significantly after rest. Patients may also feel inflexible in joint movement and tend to develop joint stiffness, especially in the morning or after rest, when they cannot resume activity immediately and need some time to move before the stiffness can be lifted. In addition, there may be a variety of different rattling sounds, such as rubbing sounds, when the joints move. Sometimes there will be joint swelling, joint effusion, mild restriction of movement, and significant muscle spasms around the joints, but there is usually no significant muscle atrophy. Therefore, early arthritis, once diagnosed, should be treated promptly to be able to control the ongoing development of the disease and prevent serious arthritis and deformity.
