If there is lung-heat cough, stomach-heat eructation (hiccups), loquat leaves boiled water can be properly given to the baby to drink. Loquat leaves are bitter in flavor and slightly cold in nature. It belongs to the lung and stomach meridians. It has the effect of clearing the lungs and relieving cough, lowering the rebelliousness and stopping vomiting (stopping the upward rush of stomach qi, stopping vomiting). It is used for lung-heat cough, rebellious gas and shortness of breath, stomach-heat and vomiting, and vexation-heat (irritability and sultriness) and thirst. Loquat Leaf can be used in combination with Scutellaria baicalensis, Gardenia jasminoides and Tangerine peel. Vomiting with cold stomach and coughing with cold wind are prohibited. If a child develops any of the above symptoms, a small amount of loquat leaf water can be consumed under the guidance of a doctor. Parents need to follow the doctor’s instructions to give the child medication, so as not to delay or aggravate the condition.
