Dried Perilla Leaf Benefits and Effects

Dried Perilla leaf, the Chinese medicine Perilla leaf, has the effect of relieving cold and dispersing cold (removing cold from the surface of the muscle), moving qi and harmonizing the stomach, and is often used in the treatment of wind-cold cold, coughing and vomiting.
As a traditional Chinese medicine, perilla leaf has high medicinal value, pungent flavor, warm nature, belonging to the lung, spleen meridian. Perilla leaves can dispel cold, move qi and harmonize the stomach. It is used for cold and flu, cough and vomiting, vomiting in pregnancy, fish and crab poisoning.
Perilla leaf can be used with Scutellaria baicalensis, Atractylodes macrocephala, Glycyrrhiza glabra and other herbs to treat typhoid fever in pregnancy, and with Chenpi, Fenghui, Mutong and other herbs to treat water-quality deficiency and swelling, and redness and astringency in urination.
