How soon can you walk with a cuneiform fracture?

The time for full weight-bearing normal ambulation of a cuneiform fracture is about three months, with braking in a cast during the initial phase of the fracture. The lower extremity should be elevated during the braking period to help the swelling of the foot to subside. During the braking period, it is not allowed to walk with the cast on the ground or to remove the cast at will, as this can easily cause the fracture to displace and cause the cast to fail. If it is clear that the fracture has a continuous bone scab, it means that the fracture has the initial stability, so you can remove the cast and walk gradually with the support of crutches. Only three months after the fracture has reached clinical healing, the fracture can be completely abandoned to walk normally.
