Six Insects Soup, also known as Six Insects Soup for Paralysis, is an empirical formula of Zhu Liangchun. Among them, roasted whole scorpion, roasted centipede searching wind, pain relief; moxibustion herb has eliminated wind and dampness and opened the channels; roasted Eupolyphaga activates blood circulation and removes blood stasis to relieve pain; prepared epiphyllum, prepared Chuanwu, prepared Caowu have warmed the meridians and dispersed the cold, opened the meridians and relieved pain; deer title grass, stiff silkworms, searching for bones and wind to pass the meridian to eliminate wind and dampness; licorice to detoxification, and harmonization of the various medicines (harmonization of different Chinese medicines), gui zhi harmonizes the Ying and Wei (so that the human body’s internal and external qi is smooth and in its own way), and warms the meridian to pass the channels and relieves pain.
Together, the formula has the effect of dispelling wind and dispersing cold, and relieving pain through the channels and collaterals.
