It is not possible to determine whether a sub-solid lung nodule is early or advanced simply by looking at it, and the specific stage needs to be determined by combining the nature of the tumor, its size, and metastasis. Sub-solid lung nodules are a kind of nodules relative to solid lung nodules, and the nature of the nodules includes benign and malignant nodules. For benign subsolid nodules, such as calcified lung nodules, the disease is benign and there is no distinction between early and late stages. For malignant sub-solid nodules, i.e. lung cancer, the staging mainly combines the size of the tumor, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, etc. for TNM staging. Early stage lung cancer is relatively small in diameter, without lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis of lung cancer. In advanced lung cancer, the tumor diameter is large or multiple lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis of the tumor are present. For sub-solid lung nodules, it is necessary to determine their benign or malignant nature before clinical staging, and it is impossible to directly distinguish between early and advanced stages, so it is recommended to seek medical treatment in time and standardize the treatment.
