If the patient experiences nausea and vomiting, and the vomited stomach contents have yellow-like changes, consider that it should be bile, or possibly certain yellow foods, such as yellow corn, mangoes, oranges, etc. Whether it is food or bile, yellow-like substances are normal vomit. If it is a coffee-colored substance or dark red blood, the presence of upper gastrointestinal bleeding is considered. In the case of yellow vomit, it is considered to be acute gastritis, which may be caused by food poisoning, or vomiting due to food indigestion. Regardless of the cause of vomiting, it is recommended that the patient be treated temporarily with acid suppressants. In the case of severe vomiting, temporary fasting is required and prompt medical attention is required.
