He is healthy and rarely gets sick, but every day when he enters the enviable office building with four seasons like spring, he keeps sneezing, runny nose and nasal congestion, which is very uncomfortable. A colleague said he was suffering from allergic rhinitis and said to buy a nasal drops from a pharmacy and just drop it. Xiao Wang went to a nearby pharmacy and saw that there were more than a dozen kinds of nasal drops, and on the recommendation of the attendant, he chose the nasal eye net. But after dropping for a period of time, not only sneezing and runny nose were not relieved, but also dry mouth and bitterness after the medicine flowed into the throat, which aggravated the uncomfortable feeling. Later, under the guidance of a specialist, glucocorticoid-based nasal drops were used, and the symptoms were slowly improved. How to choose the right nasal drops? There are eight major types of nasal drops on the market at present. 1, vasoconstrictor class: such as nasal eye net, ephedrine nasal drops, hydroxymetazoline hydrochloride, etc., belong to the adrenaline-like drugs, can excite α and β receptors, rapid contraction of nasal mucosa blood vessels, improve the symptoms of nasal congestion. It is used for acute and chronic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis and allergic rhinitis with nasal congestion as the main symptom. With hypertension, closed-angle glaucoma, coronary heart disease, hyperthyroidism and expectant mothers should be used with caution; 2, glucocorticoids: such as beclomethasone dipropionate, dexamethasone, etc. These drugs are specially designed to be made into particulate spray, pressure spray, each time a quantitative spray of 50μg, the dosage is small, in order to reduce the impact of hormones on the human body, and fully penetrate the nasal mucosa, playing the role of anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, reduce secretion. It is suitable for perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis and vasodilatory rhinitis with sneezing and runny nose as the main symptoms; 3. H1 receptor antagonists: such as lisfrancine and benadryl, which can antagonize the effect of histamine released in allergic reactions and eliminate the symptoms of allergic rhinitis; 4. mast cell stabilizers: such as disodium cromoglycate, which can stabilize the mast cell membrane so that it is not easy to degranulate, thus blocking Allergic rhinitis attack; 5. Mucosal lubricating class: such as compound cod liver oil nasal drops, peppermint oil nasal drops, etc. These drugs can play a role in lubricating the mucous membrane and are suitable for atrophic rhinitis and dry rhinitis; 6. Chinese medicine: such as Dikang Ditong, rhinitis drops, etc. These drugs are mostly Chinese medicine preparations made according to the theory of dispelling wind and clearing heat and promoting lung and orifices of ancestral medicine, which are suitable for chronic rhinitis, allergic rhinitis and sinusitis; 7. How to use nasal drops correctly? First of all, we should pay attention to the following points: 1. Choose the nasal drops according to the condition, if the nasal drops are ineffective for several times, you should ask the specialist for examination and treatment in time to avoid delaying the condition; 2. Read the instructions carefully before using the medicine and use the medicine according to the requirements. 3. Various nasal drops should not be used in excessive amounts and too often, and should not be used for a long time to avoid dependence – drug rhinitis. Blow your nose cleanly before the nasal drops, and when blowing your nose, press one side of your nose to blow the secretions gently or spit them out of your mouth after sucking back; you cannot pinch both sides of your nose and blow hard, as this will easily squeeze the secretions through the eustachian tube into the middle ear and cause purulent otitis media. If there is scab in the nasal cavity, wash it with warm water, and then take out the dried scab after it becomes soft, and then apply drops. The nasal drops should be taken in a position where the nose is lower than the mouth and pharynx, such as lying on the bed with the head stretched backwards and the nostrils facing upwards or taking a sitting position with the head tilted backwards as far as possible, which can avoid the flow of medicine into the pharynx and cause dry and bitter mouth. After the drops, lie still for 3-5 minutes and press the nasal flanks gently 3-4 times to let the solution come into contact with the nasal mucosa, then sit up and let the excess solution flow out from the front nostrils. The dosage of nasal drops should be in accordance with the instructions or medical advice, generally 3 times a day, 2-3 drops on each side is appropriate.
