Causes of pain in the flexor pool of the arm

Quchi acupoint is located at the lateral end of the transverse stripe of the elbow when the elbow is bent at 90 degrees. Pain at this point may be caused by excessive exercise, arm muscle injury, lateral epicondylitis of the humerus, radicular cervical spondylosis, osteoarthritis of the elbow joint and other reasons.

1. Excessive exercise: Excessive exercise or overexertion of the upper limbs can cause lactic acid to accumulate in the muscles of the elbow joint, causing soreness and pain, which can be relieved after rest.

2. Arm muscle injury: long-term engagement in heavy lifting labor or repeated ball games will lead to arm muscle strain, which will stimulate muscle contraction when the elbow is bent and cause pain symptoms.

3. Epicondylitis of humerus: prolonged and repeated forceful activities of the wrist will lead to localized injury of the epicondyle of the humerus, resulting in aseptic inflammation, causing pain and swelling, and thus pain on the lateral side of the elbow.

4. Neurogenic cervical spondylosis: The herniated cervical disc compresses the nerve root innervating the area, causing pain and numbness on the lateral side of the elbow joint.

5. Osteoarthritis of the elbow joint: the impact of the elbow joint by external forces will cause degenerative changes in the articular cartilage of the elbow joint, resulting in osteophytes, which will increase the friction between the joint and the surrounding soft tissues and cause pain in bending of the arm and limitation of activities.

There are also many reasons that can cause pain at the lateral elbow curved pool point, if not relieved after rest, it is recommended to consult a doctor in a timely manner, improve the relevant examination, clarify the cause of the disease and then follow the doctor’s instructions for targeted treatment, so as not to delay the condition.
