What’s wrong with your child’s morning cough?

Coughing in the morning in children is mainly due to inflammatory reactions of the respiratory system. The decrease in body resistance causes the invasion of pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, mycoplasma, chlamydia, rickettsia and other pathogens into the respiratory tract, causing congestion, edema and exudation of large amounts of inflammatory secretions from the mucous membrane walls. It contains a large number of live and dead pathogens, as well as metabolic products of inflammatory reactions, detached tissue fragments, etc. As the sympathetic nerves of the organism are relatively excited during the latter part of the night, the glands secrete vigorously, prompting an increase in secretions in the respiratory tract, and by the time one gets up in the morning, the secretions that have collected overnight irritate the respiratory tract and cause coughing. It is mainly seen in acute upper respiratory tract infections, bronchitis, pneumonia, etc.
