There is no such thing as “the best way to get rid of dampness and cold”, and the treatment should be based on different types of symptoms, such as using Zhenwu Tang for Yang deficiency and Linggui Juguan Gan Tang for Yang deficiency, etc. The therapeutic effect varies from person to person.
1. Zhen Wu Tang is composed of Poria, Paeoniae Alba, Atractylodes Macrocephalae, Ginger and Radix et Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori, which has the effect of warming yang and benefiting the water (supplementing the body’s yang qi and promoting the circulation of water), and mainly treats the symptoms of yang deficiency and water flooding (the obstacle to the operation of the body’s water and fluid caused by the deficiency of yang qi), which is mainly characterized by the lack of urination, the difficulty of the four limbs in sinking and sleepy, the edema of the lower extremities, and the fear of cold limbs. Contraindications to use, adverse reactions are not clear.
2. Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang is composed of Poria, Gui Zhi, Atractylodes Macrocephalae, and Glycyrrhiza Uralensis. It has the effect of warming yang and resolving phlegm (warming yang qi in the body to promote the metabolism of water and fluid), strengthening the spleen and inducing dampness.
It is indicated for treating phlegm-drinking (pathological products formed due to impaired water-liquid metabolism) associated with deficiency of Yang in the middle Jiao. Symptoms include fullness in the chest and ribs, dizziness, palpitation, shortness of breath and cough. Contraindications to use, adverse reactions are not clear.
