It is a kind of vaginal fluid discharged from the vagina by healthy women, colorless and transparent like egg white, or sticky and not thick like paste, with moderate amount and no fishy odor, called physiological leucorrhea, commonly known as leucorrhea. If the amount of the underwear is large, continuous, abnormal in color, quality and smell, it becomes pathological leucorrhea. Chinese medicine believes that women produce leucorrhea and Chinese medicine’s five internal organs, 12 meridians, eight channels, but the closest relationship is the spleen, kidneys, liver, Ren, Chong and Dou channels; so abnormal leucorrhea is a response to changes in the function of the internal organs, and experienced Chinese medicine practitioners need to determine the internal organs of the human body according to the nature of leucorrhea, Yin and Yang of the internal organs, so as to carry out treatment. If the leucorrhea is thin, colorless and tasteless, but in large amounts, it is mostly related to the dysfunction of the spleen’s transportation and the kidney’s warming, and the leucorrhea will naturally return to normal after treatment such as strengthening the spleen and tonifying the kidney to resolve dampness.
