When pleural effusion reaches 100~500ml, it is called small amount of pleural effusion, which may be caused by heart diseases, infectious diseases, malignant tumors and other diseases, and should be treated with medicines according to different causes.
1. Heart disease: If it is caused by heart failure, it can be treated with drugs such as captopril and spironolactone.
2. Infectious diseases: such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, isoniazid, rifampicin and so on; such as Haemophilus influenzae, Legionella and so on, erythromycin, roxithromycin and so on.
3. Malignant tumors: such as lung cancer metastasis and other diseases leading to a small amount of fluid in the chest cavity, usually through chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy to control the primary tumor.
It is recommended to carry out relevant targeted treatment for different causes and use medication under the guidance of doctors. When the primary tumor is treated, the small amount of pleural effusion will also improve. If necessary, puncture operation should be carried out in time to extract the fluid.
