What’s going on with the granularity at the end of the ileum?

Granularity at the end of the ileum may be lymphoid follicular hyperplasia, which is mostly considered to be caused by ileitis, intestinal tumor, intestinal tuberculosis and other diseases.
1. Ileitis: under normal circumstances, the end of the ileum is not granular and the lymphoid follicles are not obvious. When chronic inflammation such as ileitis occurs, lymphoid follicles will proliferate and hypertrophy. The appearance of granular, lymphoid follicular hyperplasia at the end of the ileum is not a disease in itself, which is a kind of protective response of lymphatic tissue to inflammation.
2. Intestinal tumors: when patients have intestinal tumors, due to autoimmune response, resulting in rapid proliferation of intestinal lymphocytes, resistance to tumor cells, at this time the end of the ileum will also appear granular.
3. Intestinal tuberculosis: when the intestinal tract is infected with tuberculosis bacillus, the end of the ileum will also show a large number of proliferating granular follicles due to self-protection reaction.
There may be other reasons for the granularity at the end of the ileum. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
